Hyper Paracosm
Hyper Paracosm is a 2.1 Extreme Demon collaboration level by ViRuZ and TheRealSneaky. It is an extremely difficult remake of Nine Circles, inspired by Bausha Vortex, and is known for its remarkably difficult quadruple-speed wave segments.
Although Sunix was the original verifier, EndLevel beat the level before Sunix could, and TheRealSneaky permitted him to upload it. However, EndLevel did not verify it legitimately after he was revealed to be a hacker, so Sunix became the verifier. Dr. Joe verified an update on 10 April 2021.[1]
History
[edit | edit source]On 8 April 2017, ViRuZ previewed a partially decorated preview of Hyper Paracosm, his Bausha Vortex-inspired Nine Circles levels meant to be slightly harder than Sonic Wave, the #1 Demon at the time.[2]
Months had passed, and Hyper Paracosm had gotten little attention. However, in January 2018, TheRealSneaky picked up the level after most likely seeing the video, and he worked on completing the decoration. He posted a full noclip video of his completed version on 26 January 2018.[3] In the video description, he announced that it was set to be verified by Sunix.
On 2 February 2018, Sunix got a new record of 36%.[4] Meanwhile, on 10 February 2018, EndLevel stole Hyper Paracosm from Sunix, hack-verifying and uploading it without permission.[5] This action meant Sunix had to shift his progress to EndLevel's uploaded copy.
Eventually, Sunix got one of his worst fails in the game at the time, a heartbreaking 94%, on 18 February 2018.[6] About three months later, on 14 March 2018, he verified Hyper Paracosm on a fixed copy[7] a few days after he beat Bloodlust.[8]
After EndLevel was exposed for hacking Hyper Paracosm, Sunix was recognised as the verifier.
Description
[edit | edit source]- 0-17%: Hyper Paracosm begins with a difficult normal-speed cube and later mini-cube section featuring numerous precise orb timings and tight spaces everywhere. Next, the player enters a short yet difficult ship sequence featuring numerous orbs and constant gravity, speed, and size portals. Afterwards, the player enters a short cube section with some precise timings. An auto cube section with a plethora of gravity- and speed portals follows in preparation for the drop.
- 17-64%: At the drop, the player enters a lengthy and tight wave segment with many sawblades and spikes on the walls that they must manoeuvre around awkwardly. It starts at quadruple speed, then quickly switches to triple speed, then to normal speed. The player then becomes quadruple-speed, followed shortly by a triple-speed mini-wave. Afterwards are short-length, easier normal-speed, half-speed and double-speed sections. After returning to quadruple-speed, the speed gradually slows down to normal speed before changing to triple-speed, which transforms into a double-speed dual-wave segment. A brief auto quadruple-speed wave leads to another section with awkward speed changes, followed by a triple-speed mini-wave that switches back and forth between mini and normal size. The player then becomes a normal-speed mini-wave, and the speed quickly switches to double and then triple speed before returning to a normal-sized wave. An extremely tight but short half-speed wave section follows before a simple triple-speed wave transition turns the player into a robot for a split second, after which they are teleported to the ground as a cube.
- 64-100%: Afterwards, the player enters a normal-speed cube section consisting of precise timings, numerous triple spikes and a fair amount of orbs and size portals. After the cube is a short mini-ball section, starting with spam and then transitioning into timings with slopes, followed by a ship section requiring a good bit of straight-fly. Partway through the ship, the speed changes to half-speed and then a straight-fly ship with fewer orbs than other parts of the level, but still, some orbs appear. After the ship section, there is a normal-speed UFO segment consisting of numerous orb timings and gravity portals. A mini-cube spam transition leads to an extremely tight half-speed mini-ship section. A simple mini-cube section follows with a black orb timing and a normal-sized triple-spike. The level's end-screen is displayed, with ViruZ and Sneaky's names and 'Hyper Paracosm', 'GG' and 'Verified by Dr. Joe.
User coins
[edit | edit source]There is only one user coin, located at 95%. The player must release the dash orb early to land and jump on the peak of the slope of spikes, which summons the coin above the final triple-spike, to be able to collect it.
