Nhelv is a 2.1 Extreme Demon collaboration level by SrGuillester, notlsa, and DienID, verified and published by SrGuillester on 14 April 2021.[1] The level and its decoration are based on the official music video of its song, 'Nhelv' by Silentroom,[2] which features fast-paced movement and somewhat flashy lighting. It is also often considered one of the best-decorated Extreme Demon levels in the game.

Description

[edit | edit source]

Note: The entire gameplay of Nhelv was created by SrGuillester. The names listed are the decorators.

  • 0-9% (notlsa): Nhelv begins with an auto cube transition into a relatively easy ship part. The decoration here is grey, and the speed is slow, matching the song's mellowness at the beginning. The ship requires some easy straight-flying and a bit of manoeuvring. The ship turns into a cube and must memorise the section, along with crucial timing and micro clicks, such as a green orb at around 5% that the player must hit very lightly. A green dash orb brings the player up, and the player must let go at the right time. A Japanese symbol flashes on the screen as it transitions into DienID's part.
  • 9-15% (DienID + notlsa): Suddenly, the speed accelerates to triple-speed, and the game-mode featured is now a wave. The decoration here becomes significantly less subtle as the song does as well. The player must navigate through some difficult spaces while touching the D blocks on the platforms above and below them as the screen flashes, making it very hard to see what they are doing. Additionally, the size changes constantly. The part could be interpreted as the wave section at 61% in Cold Sweat.
  • 15-83% (notlsa): An easy cube section follows, comprising some teleport portals and dash orbs that the player must let go in time with the music to hit the pads. This part serves as a transition into a medium-difficulty ball section, generally featuring the same decoration as the 9-15% wave, with some challenging orb timings; however, the section itself is readable. A speedy cube section with some line trolls and orb timings follows as the player becomes a dual and hits two dash orbs, with teleport portals syncing to the music as the level's name flashes in digital-clock-esque text. A pretty easy memory UFO and ship with a few fakes and timings follow, as the decoration and background flash red, white, and black to match the intensity of the music. The block designs then break apart, leading into a monochrome section with lines across the screen, while the blocks on the left side fly away. This part utilises multiple game-modes with high orb and portal usage, notably teleport orbs. The background and block colours switch frequently. Next is a slower cube part featuring moving spikes and orbs that fade in and out. The player stands on a block that moves with them, but it is often switched with other blocks. A fast UFO part follows after, with stars made out of spikes. The decoration is similar to the part before the cube. The game-mode switches to a dual ship and cube where the ship weaves between the stars, and the cube constantly falls across the screen using invisible teleport portals. It soon becomes just the cube going through a series of orbs and pads. It slows down after a dash orb leads to a mountain-like cube as the player descends, making very easy jumps. After a few rapid screen pulses, the speed increases, and the background is replaced by a red-and-black spiral. The timings are more challenging than before, primarily due to difficult orb timings. It then turns into a cave-like ship part as various symbols fade on-screen. One final symbol is used to transition to DienID's part.
  • 83-95% (DienID): The player enters a dual where both waves split and glide automatically while intense and flashy effects play in the background. The song and effects are known to amplify the stress of this section, especially with how close the player is to the end. The player enters a dual involving muscle memory and difficult wave manoeuvres. The waves enter a corridor with mostly blind inputs, then pass through a slow mini-cube section. The player enters another dual before executing an upside-down straight-fly to the final cube.
  • 95-100% (notlsa): The player reaches a sync-based cube section, then a UFO in which the player hits each black orb in a rhythm before falling up as the end-screen appears. The level name is displayed, including the creators' names and Silentroom.

Trivia

[edit | edit source]
  • Nhelv was rated on 21 April 2021 and placed at #29 on the Demonlist on 13 May 2021, above Gamma and below Hyper Paracosm.
  • Nhelv was ranked #15 in Geometry Dash Today's list of 'The Top 100 Greatest Geometry Dash Levels Of All Time'.
  • Nhelv was nominated for and achieved Best Extreme Demon in the Geometry Dash 2021 Awards.
  • The Japanese text before the 9% wave translates to 'Silence'.
    • This text may refer to the song artist Silentroom, but it is not confirmed.
  • Nhelv was formerly the hardest-rated memory level in the game, taking the title of hardest memory level from Killbot.
    • However, some victors believed that Nhelv is not a memory level because not every part is purely memory. If this were the case, the title of 'hardest memory level' would have gone to Requiem.
    • The title of the hardest verified memory level would later be taken by LIMBO, verified by BGram on 26 November 2022.
  • SrGuillester himself states Nhelv is around Yatagarasu difficulty; however, many other victors say this should be above Hyper Paracosm on the Demonlist.
  • The song used for Nhelv was originally composed for the BMS of Fighters 2017 competition. Despite Silentroom placing second overall, 'Nhelv' won the competition with a score of 268,759 and 273 overall impressions of the song.
    • The song has since been ported to numerous rhythm games, including Arcaea, Phigros, CHUNITHM, and vivid/stasis, among others.
  • Nhelv is considered one of the most enjoyable Extreme Demon levels in the game.
    • Nhelv used to be AeonAir's favourite Demon. He also considers it to be harder than Bloodlust.
      • However, LeslieDB considered it one of her least favourite levels in the game due to bad luck.[4]
  • Much like Glide, Nhelv has a 'npesta mode', which reduces the flashing effects and darkens bright colours as the level under ordinary circumstances would hurt his eyes very badly due to him having astigmatism.
  • There is a spiritual successor to Nhelv called Abendregen, created by SrGuillester and ivyteal.
    • There is an extension level to Nhelv named NervHell. The original layout for the level was made by willy, with the decoration being hosted by HuyChoiGeoDat. The level was verified by ChopBlox on 28 June 2026 and rated a little under two weeks later on 10 July 2026.[5] This level uses the extension of Silentroom's 2020 remastered, full version of the song 'Nhelv'.[6]
  • The placement of The Yangire on 30 October 2024 pushed Nhelv into the Legacy List of the Demonlist.
