Mountain King is a 2.1 Medium Demon level by FunnyGame. The level is known for its speed, utilizing custom quintuple- and sextuple-speed portals that use move triggers to shift the entire level towards the player, creating the illusion of greater speed.

Description

[edit | edit source]

Mountain King begins with a simple cube section featuring staircase-like platforms, easy jumps, and orb inputs. A ship section afterwards has the player flying through blocks in a relatively open space. Afterwards, a dash orb through a tight corridor leads to a mini-ship section with tighter sections and another dash orb leading the player into a mini-cube section similar to the first part, but with some more inputs involved. The player then ascends through several portals, eventually landing in a wave section with somewhat tight corridors.

A robot part later features a large downward staircase with no inputs required until the bottom, where a large spike jump suddenly appears from the ground, forcing the player to jump over the spikes. Sloped platforms appear afterwards, taking the player upwards, with a precise jump to get to a dash orb that sends the player down quickly. A triple-speed ball section then appears, featuring gravity portals, with well-timed inputs required to pass. Afterwards, there is a short mini-cube section with simple jumps.

After the mini-cube section, there is a difficult quadruple-speed ship section, followed by a UFO section through tight gaps. A ship part with a blue quintuple-speed portal appears, seemingly making the player quite a lot faster than typically possible. After some difficult gameplay, the player passes through a sextuple-speed portal, increasing the speed once more. There are some tighter gaps the player must fly through, then a transition into a dual-ship with hard gameplay. Afterwards, there is a simple UFO section that syncs with the music, serving as the end of the level.
