Ultra violence is a 2.1 Medium Demon level by XG, verified by Viprin and published on 13 April 2020.[1]
Gameplay
[edit | edit source]Ultra violence has been praised for its decoration and animated boss fights and is considered by most to be one of XG's best-looking levels yet.
- 0-7%: As the level starts, the player is immediately thrown into a mechanical-looking area filled with sawblades, orbs with strict timing and quick jumps. Discouraging words such as 'CRY' and 'CHAOS' are scattered around.
- 7-13%: The background turns monochrome, and the game-mode changes to a mini-robot segment with many jump pads and precise jumps. Occasionally, the background flashes with messages like 'THIS IS YOUR END' and 'GIVE ME YOUR SOUL', and on the bottom right reads 'Chaos has opened this new world, and I will show it to you all. Let violence crush your blood and your bones. Cry! Because its the last thing you can do'. If the player looks closely, they can also see the head of the final boss of The Eschaton, one of XG's other levels, broken in the background.
- 13-27%: The player enters a factory as a UFO and is required to tap quickly to jump up spiky, sloped tunnels, with the gravity constantly changing. Afterwards is a short straight-fly, followed by a short spider, and then one final spiked tunnel. Finally, the player transitions to a cube for a few more jumps as mechanical tentacles rise from below, ending with four blue orbs in a row the player must hit.
- 27-42%: The level introduces the segment as 'City Neon 666' before making the player perform short bursts of constantly changing game-modes with lots of orbs to hit. This segment lasts up until the first boss fight.
- 42-61%: The screen transitions to a giant spider-like robot named 'Doominator' that rapidly shoots fireballs out of its mouth and arms, fires off thin lasers, and directly attempts to stab the player with its legs. This part begins as the wave game-mode, then switches to a mini-ship after the message 'HOLD' before the second half of the boss fight, where the game-mode changes faster. Before this part, the player can activate a small ball of light that guides them throughout the first half of the boss fight. In the second half, it disappears, forcing the player to memorise the pattern and react quickly.
- 61-74%: After a very short break with an electronic cat face winking at the player, there is a dual section with some orbs, most of which are dash orbs. At 66%, a large robot with a screen face shoots a few fireballs at the player from a giant mini-gun, but it does not last long, only appearing to sync with the music. It acts as a break before the next and final boss.
- 74-100%: Following a fake ending labelled by some neon signs, a title card appears and introduces the final boss, 'Abomination', with its name and a simplistic sketch of its head shown, as well as notifying the player that they will be in 'borderless wave' mode before revealing a hulking mechanical beast with giant arm cannons and a face with drooping eyes and an extensive smile. This part features a wave at quadruple speed as the boss shoots giant lasers and energy spheres and smashes the ground to try to destroy the player. Its first laser, which circles the screen, is dodged by teleporting from the top to the bottom twice, indicated by arrows pointing to the top. After this, the player becomes a mini-ship that changes to normal size midway. During this, Abomination fires a large laser from one arm cannon and releases a series of energy spheres from the other. After that, the text 'DON'T BLINK' flashes on the screen, along with lasers that the player must avoid. The rest of the level requires the player to quickly dodge a wave of blind attacks from Abomination, indicated by exclamation marks, before Abomination devours the player in a single bite and smiles at the camera. The level ends with a title screen.
