Spectre is a 2.1/2.2 Extreme Demon mega-collaboration level hosted by xander, verified by PersonHuman42 on 5 October 2024.[1] It is a spiritual successor to Zodiac, following that level's rainbow colour scheme and flow gameplay.
Spectre was placed at #6 on the Demonlist, above Tunnel of Despair and below Avernus.
Description
- 0-6% (Atomic + dilw0nk): Spectre begins with a half-speed cube section with several orb timings, such as pink orbs and dash orbs. At first, the level shifts between orange, green, purple, and hot pink.
- 6-12% (xander + Kllnex + Uriun + Artaire): After going into normal speed, the player then leaps over spikes and back down again as a ball for a few timings before becoming a ship, where they must hit a blue orb not to become upside down. The ship must then fly through tight gaps between spikes, with some gravity portals. After the player becomes a cube again, the level slightly speeds up again, and the player makes long jumps over spikes, including a quadruple-spike. After hitting a pink orb, the player briefly enters another ship section before they hit a black orb into a cube portal. After they hit a cube portal, they must jump over a triple-spike in a green Clubstep monster's mouth before the next section begins.
- 12-19% (PokeChatt + Kakemancool): The player abruptly teleports away from the anticipated ship drop and becomes a UFO, requiring them to hit a black orb into a robot that must hit blue orbs to move through slightly tight timings. The player then enters a very brief ship-cube dual section before becoming a single ship again as they manoeuvre through tight straight-fly-esque gaps. They then enter a brief cube section that has two pink orb timings before going into a green dash orb. After a brief dual-cube section, the player enters a ship section through tight straight-fly gaps and must hit a green dash orb, which leads them into a brief dual-spider section. After this, it becomes a dual-ship, then an asymmetrical dual of a wave and a robot.
- 19-28% (Gizbro + Striked + The Shoot): The player enters a triple-speed ball portal, and becomes a ship after making a difficult pink orb input, clicking a black and then yellow orb. Player briefly turns into a cube and goes through a short mini-wave section, then growing and changing gravity. A quadruple speed cube lies ahead, with player clicking a dash and green orb, jumping into an upside down wave section, then becoming a UFO and a cube, commiting difficult orb and click inputs as a mini later on, and finally turning into a ship, which by using orbs, player avoids crashing into giant spikey gears. A short straightfly follows. Then a tight cube and ship corridor spawns in, requiring high precision and clicks consistency, with the player often changing size.
- 28-34% (BrianTheBurger + GD Iris): The cube gamemode spans half of this this section. Player clicks on fairly difficult orbs and a triple speed dash orb, then falling into a quadruple speed portal clicks four easy (blue, green, black and green again) orbs, and makes an input on a double speed yellow orb which leads to a manageable triple-speed straightfly. Player then clicks a green orb and becomes a UFO, changing gravity briefly ceiling-spams and falls into upside down quadruple speed cube portal. They click a green orb and become mini, jump, click a blue orb, instantly jump two times, click a yellow orb and grow in size.
- 34-41% (Skrypto + Deadlox + Lightcell): The double speed cube section starts, however, the player frequently changes speed while jumping on mostly gravity orbs and then as a UFO performs orb and gravity portal inputs.
- 41-47% (Cersia + TruDee):
- 47-50% (Arclia + Polli + LightningSL):
- 50-56% (nwolc + nyab):
- 56-63% (ZeroSR + CuLuC + Osiris):
- 63-69% (YakobNugget + HelpegasuS):
- 69-75% (EndLevel + Deadlox + ARtu):
- 75-81% (Zeronium + Moosh + MercuryDT):
- 81-88% (icedcave + Dawnfall + LightningSL + Accelec):
- 88-94% (ZephiroX + Darwin):
- 94-98% (icedcave + GrenadeofTacos):
- 98-100% (Blitzer, End Screen):

Trivia
- Spectre was rated on 11 October 2024 and placed at #6 on the Demonlist a month later on 11 November 2024, above Tunnel of Despair and below Avernus.
- This addition pushed Sakupen Circles out of the Top 10, Lotus Flower into the Extended List, and Ploink into the Legacy List for the second time.
- Spectre became the hardest Epic-rated level in the game, surpassing KOCMOC; Anathema has since surpassed Spectre, which in turn has been passed by Flamewall.
- Spectre was at one point designated as an official sequel to Zodiac by Bianox, but it was later retracted.
- Vernam used to have a part in the level, but he was kicked due to the Kurumi situation.
- ItsHybrid also had a part, which was later replaced.
- YakobNugget and OSIRIS, members of the Zodiac team, have participated in the level.
- Spectre's development started in late Update 2.1, but it was only finished after the release of Update 2.2.
- Despite it being a rather unpopular level for completing on the Demonlist, most of Spectre's victors awarded it with a high enjoyment rating.
- The placement of The Bloop on 23 July 2026 pushed Spectre out of the Top 20 of the Demonlist.
