stage of madness is a 1.5 Hard level by nurong3, published on 18 March 2014. It is the first level of the Morph Pack.

Description

[edit | edit source]

stage of madness is a traditional 1.5 level featuring cube, ship, ball, and UFO sequences. Its structures are formed primarily from black blocks with white outlines, with spikes, patterned square formations, and rectangular panels in the background. The colour scheme shifts between blue, white, green, purple, and red as the level progresses.

Large block numerals appear throughout the level, dividing its gameplay into eleven numbered stages. A change in colour or gameplay style accompanies most transitions between these stages.

  • 0-29%: stage of madness begins with a cube sequence against a blue background. It starts with isolated spikes and short pillars before introducing longer spike arrangements and taller structures. The background then changes to white, then shifts to sections with overhead spikes and alternating ground obstacles. Later, a green segment introduces yellow orbs and more closely spaced structures. The background then becomes red, where the player continues across pillars and spike arrangements before entering a portal.
  • 29-46%: A ship sequence begins with a white colour scheme. Flight takes place around large square formations and between alternating spike pillars positioned on the ground and ceiling. The background then becomes purple, and the available space narrows considerably. The player must pass between spike-lined boundaries, diamond-shaped structures, and enclosed passages before returning to a cube.
  • 46-59%: The player then travels across pillars of varying heights while the purple colour scheme continues. The background later changes to green. Several closely positioned portals then repeatedly alter gravity, carrying the player above and below spike-lined platforms before changing the gameplay mode.
  • 59-65%: A ball sequence takes place inside a green corridor. Gravity changes are required to move between the floor and ceiling while avoiding rows of spikes, pointed pillars, and hanging obstacles. The sequence ends by returning the player to a cube.
  • 65-74%: The second extended cube sequence begins with straightforward jumps across short pillars and floor spikes. Yellow, blue, and pink orbs appear during the latter portion. The background changes from green to red as the cube approaches the next portal.
  • 74-87%: The player enters a UFO sequence and must travel over ground spikes and between tall columns extending from the floor to the ceiling. An arrow-marked passage ahead directs it through a narrow route before a portal reverts the player to a cube.
  • 87-100%: The final cube sequence uses several orbs and pads among cog decorations, spikes, and elevated platforms. The name 'NURONG' appears in large block letters near the end, followed by three exclamation marks and a cluster of yellow orbs in a heart shape at the finish point.
