Sunix (formerly known as Deam, lSunix in-game) is a Mexican player, known for swiftly beating difficult levels such as Sakupen Hell, Erebus, Digital Descent, Betrayal of Fate, Phobos, Athanatos, Quantum Processing, and Yatagarasu, as well as for being the verifier of Sonic Wave and Devil Vortex. He is also known for completing Bloodbath multiple times, as well as completing his own buffed version. His Top 5 currently include Acheron, Tartarus, The Golden, Zodiac, and Crimson Planet. He was widely known as one of the game's best players in 2017 for completing most of the Top 100 Demons. He was briefly banned from the Pointercrate Individual Stats Viewer for lying about completing Sonic Wave at 60Hz, but he has since been reinstated.

History

[edit | edit source]

Sunix started his YouTube channel in Update 2.0, around March 2016, beating several Easy Demons, including The Realistic, Speed Racer, and X. He also made some progress on famous hard levels such as Nine Circles, Cataclysm, and Deadly ClubStep. He continued to beat mostly Easy and Medium Demons such as Reanimation and Speed of Light.

From April to June 2016, Sunix started playing Agar.io but later returned to Geometry Dash and began beating harder levels such as Fairydust, Jawbreaker, and Sh***y A Bizarre Phantasm. He also made progress on Crimson Clutter and Poltergeist, a difficult Nine Circles level. He also began practising Sonic Wave.

From June to July 2016, Sunix made progress on A Bizarre Phantasm and ICE Carbon Zust. He also beat Sharp Minor by Giron David. He also made progress on Bloodbath, beating it in practice mode in only 34 attempts. In August 2016, he made astonishing progress by beating Cataclysm, Crimson Clutter, Ultrasonic, and Conical Depression in the same month, an impressive achievement in such a short time.

In September 2016, Sunix continued beating hard Demons such as A Bizarre Phantasm, Red World Rebirth, ICE Carbon Diablo X, and Falling Up. Another notable achievement this month is verifying InvisiBath, an invisible, unnerfed version of Bloodbath.

In October 2016, Sunix continued his streak by beating The Hell Factory, Retention, The Flawless, Betrayal of Fate, and lezicuv. He also made progress on Sakupen Hell, getting a record of 79%. Additionally, he verified several unnerfed versions of Bloodbath in different colours, such as Yellowbath, Bluebath, and Greenbath. He also verified Custom Clutter, an unnerfed version of Crimson Clutter, where the level's colour theme depends on your icon colours.

In November 2016, Sunix earned the title of one of the best Geometry Dash players by beating several difficult Demons, including Necropolis, Sakupen Hell, and Athanatos. He also verified Catabath, where Cataclysm and Bloodbath combine into one level. One of his most notable achievements is verifying Sonic Wave on 25 November, making him the first person to beat it legitimately. It was placed at #1 on the Demonlist almost immediately after getting rated.

In November 2016, Sunix practised and completed Flat Major by Archarne (now known as TigerXero). In December, he practised River Styx, a 1.9 level previously considered impossible due to its extreme timings and high speed. He also practised The Hell Zone and Silent clubstep, achieving a 24% record on The Hell Zone and beating Silent clubstep in practice mode with 495 attempts. One of his most notable achievements is getting 68% on Sonic Wave Infinity (harder than Zimnyte's version and easier than Mycrafted's version).

In January 2017, Update 2.1 was released. Sunix completed Yatagarasu, an extremely difficult mega-collaboration and one of the game's hardest levels at the time. He began practising Hatred and achieved a 41% record. He also verified the old version of Abandoned Kingdom. Then later, he verified Leziclub, a difficult Insane Demon, even though it was unrated.

In February 2017, Sunix completed TOE III by Manix648, a fan-made sequel to Theory of Everything 2. He also completed Angelic Blood, a blue-themed unrated Extreme Demon.

In March 2017, Sunix beat HyperSonic, the third instalment in the Sonic Series; Lunatic Doom Machine, a difficult Insane Demon by Andromeda; and Optagonus, which Andromeda hacked and SrGuillester later reverified. Sunix would then soon beat Night Terrors, an Insane Demon by Hinds and loogiah. He also made progress on Sonic Wave Infinity, a super-buffed remake of the original Sonic Wave, achieving 25% and then 40% three days later.

In April 2017, Sunix updated Sonic Wave and made rapid progress on Artificial Ascent, achieving a record of 92%. He later reached a record of 97%, then beat Artificial Ascent on 13 April 2017. Then, in two weeks, he tackled a ton of list Demons, including Elements X, Allegiance, Cyber Chaos, Niflheim, aftermath, The Hell Zone, Down Bass, and Quest For Perfection. He also verified Gamma and Arctic Arena.

Then, in 2018, Sunix continued to beat Extreme Demons like Bloodlust, Hyper Paracosm, Artificial Dream, Penultimate Phase, and more. However, Sunix once claimed that he had retired from the game. On 8 September, Sunix announced his return. He then beat some levels such as Idols and Excessive Compliment.

In 2019, Sunix continued to beat levels such as Awakening Horus, CYCLONE, distraught, Generic Wave, Auditory Breaker, INNARDS, Digital Disarray, Ithacropolis, BuTiTi III, Ziroikabi, and Deimos by EndLevel. He got 80% on Zodiac on 14 October, with about 10,000 attempts.[1]

Afterwards, Sunix became inactive in Geometry Dash. However, he still beat some Demons in 2020, including Arctic Lights, Balengu Vortex, Fusion Z, Belloq, 2 1 1, Dolos, Gunslinga Corridor, and Catalyze. On 8 January 2021, he got 75% on The Golden. On 22 April, he announced his resignation. He still played Geometry Dash at times, though not very actively.

On 20 December 2023, Sunix reverified Sonic Wave for bug fixes in Update 2.2.

In April 2026, Sunix returned to Geometry Dash and continued his progress on Zodiac. He reached 97% on 15 April,[2] and on 19 April, he finally beat Zodiac after 19,910 attempts, making it his new hardest after over eight years.[3] He then beat Crimson Planet with 26,754 attempts on 23 April. Then he continued beating Astral Divinity during his birthday stream on 26 April. On 2 May, Sunix returned to The Golden and failed at 88%.[4][5] On 3 May, he beat Tidal Wave in 392 practice mode attempts.[6] He also had Acheron in 193 practice mode attempts.[7] Only half a month after beating Zodiac as his new hardest, he set another new hardest by beating The Golden on 4 May.[8] The next day, he began attempting to beat Tartarus as another new hardest. That same day, he reached 43% and 47-92%, nearly beating the level in two runs.[9] On 7 May, he got a new best of 49%,[10] and 55% on 10 May.[11] On 12 May, he got 60% and 47-100%,[12] then 61% on 14 May,[13] and 75% on 17 May.[14] Two and a half weeks after The Golden, he beat Tartarus on 22 May.[15]

After beating Tartarus, Sunix started playing Acheron, which he had already tried a few times. On his day 1 live stream, he achieved 26%, 65-100%, and 45-89%.[16] On day 2 he achieved 27%,[17] on day 3, 32% and 55-100%,[18] on day 4, 45-94% and 55-100% for the second time,[19] on day 6, 36-83%,[20] and 46% on day 7.[21] By 25 June, he completed Acheron in two runs.[22]

On 4 July 2026, Sunix spent 10 minutes beating Sonic Wave Rebirth while betting with a viewer on his Acheron stream, fluking it from 49% and earning 1,000 ARS (0.67 USD).[23] On 10 July, he set a new best of 50% on Acheron,[24] as well as a run of 1-55%.[25]

On 17 July 2026, Sunix beat SUBVERSIVE at a fan request, which he fluked from 53%, the final level he would have needed to complete the Top 50 on the Demonlist back in December 2017.[26] On 20 July, he reached 62% on Acheron,[27] and on 26 July, he reached 86%.[28] On 8 August, he reached 89% twice.[29] Sunix eventually beat Acheron on 14 September, after 47 streams, breaking his hardest-level record again.[30] His Acheron completion also became his first Top 50 Extreme Demon since 2020.

Controversy

[edit | edit source]

Sonic Wave situation

[edit | edit source]

After verifying Sonic Wave, Sunix faced backlash from players claiming he did not deserve to verify the level, as he had previously made a deal with Riot to let him beat Sonic Wave first. Sunix said his verification was unintentional, as he beat the level after removing start positions to see how far he could get.

Sunix later apologised to Riot, but many people still congratulated Sunix for this significant achievement. The day after the verification, Aurorus accused Sunix of using auto-click hacks and macroing, which divided the community; players like GuitarHeroStyles took Sunix's side, while fans of Mefewe and Riot, upset that the two players' year-long attempts were undermined, took Aurorus's side. Eventually, the community accepted Sunix as the first player to beat Sonic Wave legitimately. It was placed at #1 on the Demonlist (still on the Geometry Dash Forums at the time).

FPS bypass controversy

[edit | edit source]

On 8 March 2018, Sunix posted a video of his Bloodlust completion. However, it was revealed that he and Skullo had both used the FPS Bypass, then considered an illegitimate hack, to beat the level. The community called out Sunix, with Skullo deeming him a 'hacker' in his Bloodlust video, which also revealed (via voice chat) that Cyclic had used a similar personal tool to beat Sonic Wave and other Demons. As a result, FPS Bypass came to be widely referred to as a 'hacking tool' or a 'cheating tool'.

After this, Sunix posted videos less often and primarily played osu!, while still playing Geometry Dash occasionally.

In December 2019, Sunix acquired a 240Hz monitor and stopped using the FPS Bypass. He used the new monitor to beat Deimos by EndLevel extremely quickly, making it his new hardest non-bypass completion.

Sometime in May 2020, the Demonlist team lifted the FPS Bypass ban, and Sunix's Bloodlust record was accepted, making it his new hardest Demon.

Trivia

[edit | edit source]
  • Sunix has garnered over 232,000 subscribers on his YouTube channel.[31]
  • Sunix was the 20th guest of The Dasher Podcast.[32]
    • Sunix was also the 17th guest of the Vernosis interviews.[33]
  • Despite what people or he initially stated, Sunix claimed he did not start playing Geometry Dash in April 2016. That was the time he started his YouTube channel.
  • Sunix has his own buffed version of Bloodbath, named Deambath. The level is considered outdated due to his new username. In one of his streams, it seems he is working on 'Sunixbath'.
  • Sunix had the former lowest-attempt record on Betrayal of Fate, beating it in 2,239 attempts.
  • Sunix found Sakupen Hell to be much harder than Bloodbath.
  • All of Sunix's Extreme Demon completions are streamed.
  • Sunix was set to verify a redecorated version of AfterCataBath in the future, named Apocalyptic Trilogy. However, he dropped it, and Toka took over verification. Toka later dropped the level and gave it to Trick, but he was later removed from verification due to controversy. polterghast later replaced Trick and verified Apocalyptic Trilogy after nerfing it from its Top 1 state on 24 December 2024.
  • Sunix has completed Catabath, a level that combines the two Extreme Demons Cataclysm and Bloodbath into a single level. However, it will never be rated.
  • Exenity once gave Sunix an Athanatos copy. In turn, it caused the original verifier, Aurorus, to lash out and hack Exenity's account.
    • After Aurorus hack-verified Athanatos and the level was later uploaded, Sunix made swift progress and became the first person to beat it shortly after.
      • Sunix found Athanatos easier than Bloodbath and Sakupen Hell.
  • Sunix had what used to be considered one of the worst fails in Geometry Dash history, with his fail at 98% on Yatagarasu. This unfortunate fail is said to be on par with Mefewe's 98% fail on Sonic Wave and knobbelboy's 98% fail on Bloodlust.
  • Sunix was the first to beat Quantum Processing besides Rampage, the verifier. He beat it only one day after its release.
  • In December 2017, Sunix had beaten 49 out of the 50 hardest Demons on the Demonlist. It was formerly the longest such streak of consecutive top Demons ever.
    • At the time, the 50th hardest level was SUBVERSIVE, the level Sunix had missed to complete the list.
      • Nevertheless, after his return in 2026, Sunix finally beat SUBVERSIVE on 18 July.
    • This record-streak stood for a very long time until nSwish broke it with their completion of Wasureta on 30 May 2020. It extended their streak to 50 and made them the first person to complete every level in the Top 50 at the same time; later, their completion of Fabrication extended it to 76.
    • However, nSwish lost their streak in September 2020 when Cold Sweat was added at #7 and broke their streak down to 6. The current world record holder is unknown.
  • Sunix has beaten Blade of Justice in 551 attempts. The main reason for the low number of attempts is likely his experience as a previous verifier.
  • As of January 2018, Sunix has beaten Plasma Pulse Finale and Erebus, which became #1 shortly after being released. He has also verified Cadrega City and Gamma, both of which were placed in the Top 10 on the Demonlist.
  • Sunix has beaten Mefewe's version of Sonic Wave, a buffed version of the original.
  • Sunix was working on a buffed Sonic Wave called Sonic Wave Infinity.
    • Sunix promised live streams of Sonic Wave Infinity after beating Mefewe's Sonic Wave, hoping to verify the level; however, the plan never materialised.
  • Sunix previously played on a Logitech G900 mouse, as well as a Logitech G502.
  • Unlike many other players, Sunix rarely has excited reactions after passing extremely difficult levels.
  • Sunix believes that comparing the difficulty of Bloodlust to Crimson Planet is like comparing the difficulty of Stereo Madness to Bloodbath.
  • Sunix beat Generic Wave and Auditory Breaker in one day, on 18 August 2019.
  • Sunix moved on to a different game, osu!, for a while, reaching the Top 100 global in osu!mania.[34] Now he is back in the Geometry Dash community, albeit not very active.
    • However, since his return in 2026, Sunix has become relatively active and made numerous notable achievements.
  • Sunix initially found Acheron much more fun than Tartarus.[35] However, he sometimes found it tedious because of bad luck and a mental block.[30]
    • Sunix also beat Acheron on exactly Attempt 1 when he started another round.
