Vortrox is an American player, level creator, moderator, and YouTube content creator. He is known for the 'Superbuffing' series on his YouTube channel, where he increases the difficulty of main levels, such as Stereo Extremeness, Buff on Track, Buff After Buff, and Time Extreme.

Vortrox's hardest completion is Time Extreme, which he verified on 30 March 2025, taking 47,993 attempts. He is currently streaming the verification of his latest super-buffed main level, Cycles X, which is stated to be his next hardest completion; his best record is 93%, which he has achieved twice.

History

Vortrox usually creates Geometry Dash entertainment videos on his YouTube channels, such as nerfing levels, buffing levels, and completing challenges. He has produced nine videos for his buffing series, which have collectively garnered over 49.5 million views. He has also collaborated with faces of the Geometry Dash community, such as EricVanWilderman, Zoink, TCD, KingSammelot, and many more amazing content creators. He is the creator or verifier of some popular levels, including Stereo Extremeness, Time Extreme, and Welcome to GD News.

Vortrox is currently attempting to verify his own creation, Cycles X, a super-buffed version of Cycles. He has stated it to be much harder than Time Extreme, and that it he expects Cycles X to place within the top 200-300. On 6 May 2026, he achieved 93% on the level as his new best, and a month later on 10 June he would get 93% again.

Trivia

• Vortrox has garnered over 1.3 million subscribers on his main YouTube channel.
  • Vortrox's YouTube channel amassed over 420 million views.
  • Vortrox's second YouTube channel, VortroxTwo, amassed over 320,000 subscribers.
• Vortrox gained moderator status in-game on 26 July 2021.
• Vortrox once made a challenge level for the highly skilled player Zoink to beat, who managed to do so in 30 minutes. It is currently Vortrox's most-viewed video, with over 26 million views as of 21 March 2026.
  • Vortrox made another three challenge levels for Zoink, Trick and Doggie, where the three players raced to see who could complete all three challenges first.
• Vortrox has had unfortunate deaths of 92% three times and 93% on Stereo Extremeness, 95% on Bloodbath, 92% on Phobos, 96% on Artificial Ascent, 92% and 96% on Yatagarasu, and his worst one being 96% on Time Extreme due to a lag spike.
  • Speaking of which, Vortrox's repeated fails at 92% on several Extreme Demons (also including Allegiance, Welcome to GD News, excluding the end-screen, Yatagarasu, and most notably Phobos) caused the 92% percentage to become a widespread meme among his fans. It became an apparent symbol of bad luck.
  • Many of his fans have changed their YouTube usernames to one of the 92% fails he has achieved, most notably Phobos 92% and Allegiance 92%.
• In his '100 Days of Extreme Demons' challenge that started from 1 August 2024 to 8 November 2024, Vortrox has beaten 22 Extreme Demons (including Stereo Extremeness).
• Vortrox owns two Discord servers called 'Caboose' and 'GD News Center'. He has uploaded a video about the 'GD News Center', his newest and most active Discord server for news about Demons, updates, the community, and more. Vortrox also sells merch.
• GD News was a series on Vortrox's channel where he talked about news happening in the community, such as verified and released levels, update announcements, etc. The phrase 'Welcome to GD News!' was a familiar one that originated from his videos.
• Vortrox has his own website, on which, for example, he sells various Geometry Dash-related merchandise.
• The reason why Technical received the verification rights for Welcome To GD News is due to Technical's roommate knowing Vortrox personally. Vortrox would show up in Technical's apartment to discuss passing the level's verification to him, an offer Technical accepted.
• On 17 March 2026, Vortrox published a video on his second YouTube channel, in which he reacted to Ender's video about the story of the former hacker spaceuk. While the video's reception has been mostly positive, a few criticised Vortrox for talking about spaceuk in an insulting way, e.g., sociopath and d**khead.
  • A large portion of people who watch Vortrox's video are minors, so his use of these derogatory terms might influence them to do the same.
  • Some people pointed out the changed title and thumbnail of the video. Initially, it said 'This is the saddest video I've reacted to' with the word 'Evil' in the thumbnail, but then the title was changed to 'SpaceUK Is Worse Than I Thought...' and now the thumbnail says 'Loser'.
    • The popular Geometry Dash content creator Vernosis interviewed Vortrox, asking him why he acted this way towards spaceuk. He replied that he had already been tired of people in his live-stream chat talking about spaceuk beating Acheron and coming back. Vortrox and Vernosis both agreed that spaceuk destroyed the possible career of a Top 1 player for RG, Crisis, and possibly other players.
• Vortrox's level Time Extreme was ranked as the worst Extreme Demon of 2025 by the AREDL (All Rated Extreme Demons List).
• Vortrox's biggest fluke on a Demon is on the Insane Demon level Death Note by Ruf, fluking from 2%.
