===2026=== | |||
While Technical's Acheron progress live streams started on 28 January, Technical achieved a 69-86% run on 1 January. By the earlier-mentioned 28 January, Technical already had 86% on the level, as it was his 30th stream. On 2 February, he got a new best of 91%.
On 17 January, Technical posted a video ranking every Extreme Demon he had completed up to that point, totalling 345 levels, with Deep Bass scoring the worst at 1.05 points and Quaoar the best at 9.63 points. On 13 April, he completed Delta after 14,887 attempts, with a worst fail of 94% and 10 streams. He plans to reach 400 Extreme Demons this year. However, once he reaches 500 Extreme Demons, he wants to redo his entire Extreme Demon ranking spreadsheet.
Technical was now attempting to beat Deimos by ItsHybrid. On 20 May 2026, he managed a fluke from 38% to 89%, one of the most impressive flukes in the game's history. In a few days, he would quickly get back to his fluke, achieving 86% on 30 May.
Meanwhile, Technical planned to meet up with his friend group of 11 people at a beach house. Ironically, Zodiac is very close to falling off the Demonlist during that time. All in all, Technical felt weird knowing that a level once thought to be the peak of Geometry Dash skill was now falling off. Technical explained that he might never feel like this again, as if the level, himself, and his legacy are drifting off, as Zodiac will not receive too much attention once it is out of the Top 150 of the Demonlist (similarly to Cognition, Renevant, Arctic Lights, and more).
This meet-up occurred on 1 July, and he streamed playing Deimos and finally got a new best of 91%. On 13 July, he improved his best to 92%. After failing the dual five times cumulatively, he finally beat Deimos on 24 July.
On 30 September, Technical began attempting to beat poocubed. On 9 October, after two 98% fails in the same stream, he beat poocubed, making it his fourth hardest completion.

===kowareta rating drama===
On 31 December 2018, Gablor verified the Extreme Demon level kowareta. It would have been placed at #2 if it were rated, as it was considered harder than Plasma Pulse Finale and Spacial Rend, which at the time were contesting for the placement of the second hardest Demon. On 23 August 2019, it finally got featured and placed at #6 on the Demonlist. Shortly after, Technical addressed his distaste for the level and his opinion that it was not rate-worthy, leading fans of his to lash out against Gablor. This event sparked so much controversy that RobTop unrated it only nine hours after its release and removed it from the Demonlist. Once Gablor addressed this drama, people started criticising Technical for his role, and a community post addressed it. On 24 August 2019, it was re-rated and re-added to the list, though this time only as a star rating. Both parties have retracted since.

*Technical has garnered over 150,000 subscribers on his YouTube channel.

*On 20 September 2025, Technical was invited to Secret Way's interview, where he talked about things such as his mental health, reaction to him being the verifier of Zodiac, and his end goal in Geometry Dash. He also briefly talked about his opinion on 'The Gang'.
*The last two letters of Technical's Twitter profile (JL) represent his initials in real life.
*Technical once thought kowareta was not rate-worthy, sparking minor drama after it was briefly unrated. People believed it was caused by Technical's statements for the most part.
*Technical has made a full ranking of all 200 Extreme Demons he has completed. He would first rank them by gameplay, then by decoration, and then by music. He placed Quaoar in first place and The Hell World in last.

*Technical's completion of LIMBO on 2 April 2024 did not come without difficulties.
**After selecting the key in the finale, Technical accidentally triggered a speed-hack keyboard shortcut that he habitually used to fast-forward through end screens during his runs. Although it did not affect the difficulty of his completion, his accidental shortcut invalidated it by Demonlist standards. Anticipating Twitter controversy over the validity of his run, he opted to rebeat the level, which he accomplished in just six hours.
**On 4 April 2024, Technical uploaded his completion video to YouTube, but it had the misfortune of having the 'n-word' in the URL. He quickly privatised the video, reuploaded it, and then shared the error on Twitter, garnering nearly 50,000 likes, making it his most-liked tweet to date. Despite his initial anger at YouTube's oversight stealing the spotlight from his completion, he admitted he'd likely laugh about it later on.
***Technical later unlisted the original video on 15 May 2024 for those who 'really really wanted it and to prove it does still exist', according to the video's description. The video can be found here.
*At one point, he was the set verifier for Sonic Wave Infinity by Riot, a remake of Sonic Wave, said to rival the difficulty of Tartarus. He later dropped the verification due to concerns about future stress.
*Technical has died on a handful of levels by celebrating too early. The most notable instances of this are his 95% death on Sigma, 97% death on Catalyze, 98% deaths on The Ultimate Phase, Carnage Mode, and Necromancer, and his first 98% death on Ragnarok; he then died at 98% on Ragnarok again due to a bug.
**Technical failed at 98% on Necromancer after he took a brief skip in the level and got blocked by the anti-cheat at the end. This fail was the first discovery of the skip anti-cheat, and it caused some of his fans to attack TGI, the verifier and publisher, for watching Technical take the skips and, as a joke, not telling him about the anti-cheat.
*Technical has beaten over 1,390 Demons, with 365 being Extreme Demons.
*Technical removed the number 49 from the end of his YouTube username on 18 October 2019. The number signified his jersey number in baseball, which he finally revealed during his 49,000-subscriber special.
*Technical is often humorously called 'Thomas Echnical', due to people comparing his name to npesta's, where the first letter stands for his first name initial and the last for the surname.
*Technical once changed his YouTube name to 'yoshiwannabe' because he lost a bet to one of his friends, Golden.
**Technical's name was also changed to 'yoshiwannabe' on the Demonlist for April Fools' Day 2019.
*On 4 November 2019, Technical beat his 500th Demon and simultaneously 100th Extreme Demon, Visible Ray, making him the fourth player to have completed 100 Extreme Demons at the time, after Rainstorm, Kainite, and iNeo.
*Technical has been featured on 'Meet...' with csx42. He was on Episode #22.
*The reason why Technical received the verification rights for Welcome To GD News is due to Technical's roommate knowing Vortrox, the host of the level, personally. Vortrox would show up at Technical's apartment to discuss passing the level's verification to him, which he offered to take.
*In late March 2020, nSwish surpassed him to claim the #1 spot on the Individual Stats Viewer. However, Technical briefly reclaimed the top position on 18 April 2020 after completing Tartarus. nSwish quickly regained the lead a day later after completing Tapwreck.
*For April Fools' 2020, he was promoted to #1 in the Individual Stats Viewer and labeled North Korean.
*The YouTuber Blue made a documentary on Technical's history.
*Technical lost to Gizbro in the semi-finals in the first session of the Geometry Dash World Cup.
*Technical is a very skilled Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Mario Kart World player and has achieved various Time Trial world records across both games, most notably holding the record for 200cc Rainbow Road in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe uninterrupted since October 2020.
*Technical uses the same enjoyment rating scale from 0 to 100 for every level that he beats.
**The highest-rated level was Verdant Landscape with a perfect 100/100, and the lowest-rated level is Ego Killing with 0/100.
**AcropoliX did not receive a rating because Technical beat it at 4 AM.
**Technical gave Furious Flames a rating of Brian/100 as a joke and said on stream that the real rating would be around 8 or 9/100.
**Lucid Nightmares originally had an enjoyment rating of no/100 but was later updated to 3/100.

Technical (formerly known as Technical49) is an American player. He became the first person to beat Bloodlust, Plasma Pulse Finale, Gamma, Spacial Rend, and Sonic Wave without FPS bypass. On 9 April 2019, he became the actual verifier of Zodiac after xander confessed to hacking. Additionally, he beat Tartarus on 18 April 2020 and also verified updates to the levels Gamma and Breakout.
Technical had a period of inactivity during 2021-2022, but he has been recently beating difficult Extreme Demons again. His current hardest Demon is Acheron, which he beat on 5 March 2026. He also beat Slaughterhouse on 16 July 2024, LIMBO on 2 April 2024, Edge of Destiny on 28 August 2023, and Hard Machine on 9 October 2023. All of these levels, except Hard Machine, became his new hardest completion.
History
[edit | edit source]- Work in progress; more to be added soon
Beginnings
[edit | edit source]Technical created his YouTube channel on 19 January 2017, when Yatagarasu was the Top 1 level on the Demonlist. His first video was uploaded just five days later, in which Technical completed Exploring Space, an Insane Demon.[1] His next upload was the completion of Rearmed, another Insane Demon.[2]
Technical would then upload many more of his Easy-, Medium-, Hard-, and Insane Demon completions at a consistent pace. On 29 January 2017, he beat Arcade Punk,[3] then Psychosis on 2 February,[4] Acceleron on 3 February,[5] Dark Disco on 11 February,[6] The Falling Mysts on 20 February,[7] Grindfury on 20 February,[8] Future Circles on 28 February,[9] Moonstone on 3 March,[10] Enlightened Express on 6 March,[11] Reanimation on 7 March,[12] Breakthrough by Hinds on 8 March,[13] Success on 9 March,[14] Warhead on 12 March,[15] Mayhem by LazerBlitz on 12 March,[16] and New Age Blizzard on 19 March.[17] On 25 March, Technical got 52-100% on Valor, which at the time was an Extreme Demon (now Insane Demon).[18]
2026
[edit | edit source]While Technical's Acheron progress live streams started on 28 January, Technical achieved a 69-86% run on 1 January.[19] By the earlier-mentioned 28 January, Technical already had 86% on the level, as it was his 30th stream.[20] On 2 February, he got a new best of 91%.[21]
On 17 January, Technical posted a video ranking every Extreme Demon he had completed up to that point, totalling 345 levels, with Deep Bass scoring the worst at 1.05 points and Quaoar the best at 9.63 points. On 13 April, he completed Delta after 14,887 attempts, with a worst fail of 94% and 10 streams.[22] He plans to reach 400 Extreme Demons this year. However, once he reaches 500 Extreme Demons, he wants to redo his entire Extreme Demon ranking spreadsheet.[23]
Technical was now attempting to beat Deimos by ItsHybrid. On 20 May 2026, he managed a fluke from 38% to 89%, one of the most impressive flukes in the game's history.[24] In a few days, he would quickly get back to his fluke, achieving 86% on 30 May.[25]
Meanwhile, Technical planned to meet up with his friend group of 11 people at a beach house.
This meet-up occurred on 1 July, and he streamed playing Deimos and finally got a new best of 91%.[26] On 13 July, he improved his best to 92%.[27] After failing the dual five times cumulatively, he finally beat Deimos on 24 July.[28]
On 30 September, Technical began attempting to beat poocubed. On 9 October, after two 98% fails in the same stream, he beat poocubed, making it his fourth hardest completion.[29]
Controversies
[edit | edit source]kowareta rating drama
[edit | edit source]On 31 December 2018, Gablor verified the Extreme Demon level kowareta.[30] It would have been placed at #2 if it were rated, as it was considered harder than Plasma Pulse Finale and Spacial Rend, which at the time were contesting for the placement of the second hardest Demon.

Trivia
[edit | edit source]- Technical has garnered over 150,000 subscribers on his YouTube channel.[32]
- Technical used to be a member of 'The Gang', which included npesta, Golden, Gizbro, and himself. It was disbanded on 18 January 2021.[33]
- On 20 September 2025, Technical was invited to Secret Way's interview, where he talked about things such as his mental health, reaction to him being the verifier of Zodiac, and his end goal in Geometry Dash.[34] He also briefly talked about his opinion on 'The Gang'.
- The last two letters of Technical's Twitter profile (JL) represent his initials in real life.
- Technical once thought kowareta was not rate-worthy, sparking minor drama after it was briefly unrated. People believed it was caused by Technical's statements for the most part.
- Technical has made a full ranking of all 200 Extreme Demons he has completed. He would first rank them by gameplay, then by decoration, and then by music. He placed Quaoar in first place and The Hell World in last.[35]
- Technical's current opinions are in his spreadsheet.
- Technical's completion of LIMBO on 2 April 2024 did not come without difficulties.
- After selecting the key in the finale, Technical accidentally triggered a speed-hack keyboard shortcut that he habitually used to fast-forward through end screens during his runs. Although it did not affect the difficulty of his completion, his accidental shortcut invalidated it by Demonlist standards. Anticipating Twitter controversy over the validity of his run, he opted to rebeat the level, which he accomplished in just six hours.
- On 4 April 2024, Technical uploaded his completion video to YouTube, but it had the misfortune of having the 'n-word' in the URL. He quickly privatised the video, reuploaded it, and then shared the error on Twitter, garnering nearly 50,000 likes, making it his most-liked tweet to date.[36] Despite his initial anger at YouTube's oversight stealing the spotlight from his completion, he admitted he'd likely laugh about it later on.[37]
- Technical later unlisted the original video on 15 May 2024 for those who 'really really wanted it and to prove it does still exist', according to the video's description. The video can be found here.
- At one point, he was the set verifier for Sonic Wave Infinity by Riot, a remake of Sonic Wave, said to rival the difficulty of Tartarus. He later dropped the verification due to concerns about future stress.
- Technical has died on a handful of levels by celebrating too early. The most notable instances of this are his 95% death on Sigma, 97% death on Catalyze, 98% deaths on The Ultimate Phase, Carnage Mode, and Necromancer,[38] and his first 98% death on Ragnarok; he then died at 98% on Ragnarok again due to a bug.
- Technical failed at 98% on Necromancer after he took a brief skip in the level and got blocked by the anti-cheat at the end. This fail was the first discovery of the skip anti-cheat, and it caused some of his fans to attack TGI, the verifier and publisher, for watching Technical take the skips and, as a joke, not telling him about the anti-cheat.[39]
- Technical has beaten over 1,390 Demons, with 365 being Extreme Demons.
- Technical removed the number 49 from the end of his YouTube username on 18 October 2019. The number signified his jersey number in baseball, which he finally revealed during his 49,000-subscriber special.
- Technical is often humorously called 'Thomas Echnical', due to people comparing his name to npesta's, where the first letter stands for his first name initial and the last for the surname.
- Technical once changed his YouTube name to 'yoshiwannabe' because he lost a bet to one of his friends, Golden.
- Technical's name was also changed to 'yoshiwannabe' on the Demonlist for April Fools' Day 2019.
- On 4 November 2019, Technical beat his 500th Demon and simultaneously 100th Extreme Demon, Visible Ray, making him the fourth player to have completed 100 Extreme Demons at the time, after Rainstorm, Kainite, and iNeo.
- Technical has been featured on 'Meet...' with csx42. He was on Episode #22.[40]
- The reason why Technical received the verification rights for Welcome To GD News is due to Technical's roommate knowing Vortrox, the host of the level, personally. Vortrox would show up at Technical's apartment to discuss passing the level's verification to him, which he offered to take.[41]
- In late March 2020, nSwish surpassed him to claim the #1 spot on the Individual Stats Viewer. However, Technical briefly reclaimed the top position on 18 April 2020 after completing Tartarus. nSwish quickly regained the lead a day later after completing Tapwreck.
- For April Fools' 2020, he was promoted to #1 in the Individual Stats Viewer and labeled North Korean.
- The YouTuber Blue made a documentary on Technical's history.[42]
- Technical lost to Gizbro in the semi-finals in the first session of the Geometry Dash World Cup.[43]
- Technical is a very skilled Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Mario Kart World player and has achieved various Time Trial world records across both games, most notably holding the record for 200cc Rainbow Road in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe uninterrupted since October 2020.[44][45]
- Technical uses the same enjoyment rating scale from 0 to 100 for every level that he beats.
- The highest-rated level was Verdant Landscape with a perfect 100/100, and the lowest-rated level is Ego Killing with 0/100.
- AcropoliX did not receive a rating because Technical beat it at 4 AM.
- Technical gave Furious Flames a rating of Brian/100 as a joke and said on stream that the real rating would be around 8 or 9/100.[46]
- Lucid Nightmares originally had an enjoyment rating of no/100 but was later updated to 3/100.
