Surv is a South African/American player and level creator, who has completed several Extreme Demons, namely Cataclysm, Bloodbath, The Ultimate Phase, A Bizarre Phantasm, The Hell Factory, ICE Carbon Diablo X, Conical Depression, Crimson Clutter, Creeper Force, Phobos, Betrayal of Fate, Plasma Pulse III, Artificial Ascent, Yatagarasu, Spacial Rend, and Ouroboros. Surv was seen as the best Geometry Dash player for a while due to Riot's inactivity on YouTube and Geometry Dash. Surv would eventually quit the game and delete all the content on his channel. However, he returned to the game in 2022 and beat Zodiac.

Following his return, he has beaten Bloodlust, Lucid Nightmares, Tartarus, verified a currently unrated Extreme Demon named Duplication, and beaten his current hardest, Oblivion, on 28 January 2024.[1]

History

[edit | edit source]

On 4 March 2016, Surv was involved in some drama against Quasar after Surv had crashed near the end of Bloodbath (96%). Quasar, an unknown player at the time, beat the level shortly afterwards, yelling, 'Get rekt, Surv, get fricking Surved!' on his stream.[2] Surv took offence, and Quasar promptly posted an apology video.[3] Surv apologized in return for overreacting.

On 23 May, he beat Phobos. Surv got 87% on the level the day it was rated and later beat it days after.[4]

On 23 June, he had also been tasked to verify Yatagarasu after Riot had given up on it. Surv's record stood at 33% at the time, and it was his main focus.

On 31 August, Surv announced that he was quitting Geometry Dash and moving on to other games. This decision is because he found the community annoying. He also announced he was passing Yatagarasu to TrusTa. Later, Surv said he would still create levels but not play difficult levels. On 27 December, however, Surv beat Artificial Ascent on a stream, at the time, ranked #5 on the Official Extreme and Insane Demon Records List.[5] Then, on 16 January 2017, Surv beat Yatagarasu, being the second person to do so (after TrusTa).

On 29 October 2018, Surv released a video called #FREERIOT. In it, he said Riot's channel was removed and that he was supposed to have it back by now, but nothing had happened yet. Surv made the video free to reupload and wanted everyone to reupload it on their channels.[6]

On 13 June 2019, Surv released a video showcasing his finished part in Night Rider. In the video description, he stated that it was decorated by OSIRIS.[7]

On 18 July 2019, Surv uploaded a 72% progress video on Spacial Rend,[8] and beat it on 16 August 2019.[9]

On 25 July 2021, he beat Generic.[10] Then ZAPHKIEL on 28 July,[11] Catalyze on 1 August,[12]

Surv completed Precipitance on 1 February 2022.[13] Then, Awakening Horus on 3 February,[14] HURRICANE on 5 February,[15] Leyak on 9 April,[16] CYCLONE on 12 April,[17] DARKENED on 24 April,[18] MINDBREAKER on 27 April,[19] Quaoar on 5 June,[20] then APEX on 6 June,[21] Delta Interface on 12 June,[22] Asymmetry on 18 June,[23] Spectrum Cyclone on 27 June,[24] and Sakupen Hell on 28 June.[25] On 1 July, Surv beat Sonic Wave.[26] On 4 July, he beat New Record.[27] On 12 July, Surv got 84% on Zodiac.[28] His previous record on the level was 59%.[29] On 29 July, he completed Misty Mountains,[30] then TORNADO on 23 October,[31] Infernal Abyss on 31 October,[32] Athanatos on 2 November,[33] aftermath on 2 November as well,[34] and NecropoliX on 27 November.[35] Finally on 28 December, Surv beat Zodiac as his new hardest.[36]

On 25 January 2023, he beat CHROMA FINALE.[37] then Glide on 27 January,[38] Bloodlust on 2 February,[39] Quantum Processing on 4 February,[40] Lucid Nightmares on 9 February,[41] verified Duplication on 13 February,[42] and completed Photovoltaic II on 18 February.[43] He then started playing Tartarus—he had 52% and 46-100% by 26 February,[44] 60%,[45] 91% the next day,[46] 97% on 1 March,[47] 98% on 11 May,[48] and finally beat the level on 12 May as a new hardest.[49] In the meantime Surv beat Hyper Paracosm on 8 May[50] and Hyper Paradox on 10 May.[51] Following that, he completed moment on 14 May,[52] got 43% and 58-100% on Slaughterhouse on 29 May,[53] verified ReRUST on 10 June,[54] did 43-91% on The Hallucination on 15 August,[55] beat Karma on 10 September,[56] Sink on 12 September,[57] and verified CUBENSSI on 11 October.[58]

On 4 September 2026, Surv returned to Slaughterhouse and achieved a run of 23-90%,[68] and on 8 September 2026, 76%.[69]
