The Geometry Dash Awards is an annual event that used to be hosted by Viprin during January and February, and promoted by the Geometry Dash community, including the developer. It celebrates the game's top levels, creators, and community contributions from the past year. The event is divided into two parts: a nominees video and a results video, released on YouTube (and occasionally Twitch) a few weeks apart. Nominations are selected through community polls and input from high-level community members, with winners determined by community voting via Google Forms.
Tied initially to Geometry Dash updates, the awards shifted to an annual format in 2020 due to delays in Update 2.2. Viprin plans to maintain this yearly structure. The event typically features 18-20 categories, with varying numbers of nominees per category. While nominations often reflect popularity, this has drawn criticism for overlooking lesser-known but deserving creators and levels. Some nominees, like xo for Best Extreme Demon in 2020, have also sparked controversy.
The awards occasionally include bonus content, such as animations or augmented reality games, adding to the event's appeal. Nominations are announced in mid-February, with results revealed in late February or early March.
Suggestions for the Geometry Dash Awards 2026 in January are currently being taken, which includes feedback on the jury system. The form to cast your votes can be found on the official RobTop Games YouTube channel in the community tab.
The Geometry Dash Awards follow a structure similar to traditional award ceremonies. Each category is introduced, followed by a showcase of its nominees through short videos. At the end of the nominees video, the audience is encouraged to vote via a Google Form. The results video follows this format, highlighting the winner of each category with a showcase. While only one winner is chosen per category, a nominee can win in multiple categories. The categories vary from year to year, reflecting different aspects of the Geometry Dash community.
In the 2025 edition, the jury system was introduced, consisting of 200 people specially picked by the community. The jury's combined votes account for 50% of the total result on nominated levels.

The Geometry Dash 2.0 Awards Nominees and Results premiered on Viprin's channel on 26 November 2016 and 2 December 2016, respectively. As the first official award show, it covered Update 2.0's lifespan and served as a send-off to 2.0, with Update 2.1 set to release soon after. The category list differed significantly from those of future shows, although many categories remained. The event featured a two-part ARG (augmented reality game) that rewarded the community with the 2.1 vault code 'Octocube'.
An animation titled 'Prelude', created by rafer with help from Viprin, premiered on 14 December 2019, before the 2.1 awards. It included voice acting by Norcda Childa and Colon, with cameos from prominent community members like TrusTa, GuitarHeroStyles, and EricVanWilderman. The soundtrack was composed by TheDevon (noveDehT) and included songs by Creo.
The Geometry Dash 2.1 Awards Nominees and Results premiered on 14 December 2019 and 29 December 2019, respectively. The show covered the lifespan of Update 2.1 up to December 2019. Unique categories included Best Gauntlet Level and Best Content Creator. The results were delayed by one day due to technical issues.
The show featured a two-part ARG. The first part began during the nominees video, revealing a link to a skiing game by Etzer, leading to a series of puzzles. The second part started during the results video, showcasing a puzzle board that, when solved, revealed 2.2 icons and the vault code 'd4sHg30mE7ry'. Full puzzle details can be found here (Part 1) and here (Part 2).
The Geometry Dash 2020 Awards Nominees and Results premiered on 19 December 2020 and 2 January 2021, respectively. These awards were the first annual instalment, covering December 2019 to November 2020. New categories included Best Modern Level, Best Effect Level, Best Art Level, and Best Extreme Demon. The Best Content Creator category was split into Best Streamer and Best YouTuber, while Best Game Recreation and Best Original Game were merged into Best Minigame. The maximum nominees per category increased from four to six.
The Geometry Dash 2021 Awards Nominees premiered on 22 December 2021 (delayed from 18 December). The show covered December 2020 to November 2021 and featured an animation by Rawin and rafer, showcasing iconic levels from Geometry Dash's history. Best Story was added as a new category, while Best Song was removed. The nomination process was updated to allow creators to qualify with two minutes of created levels, including collaboration parts.
On 2 June 2023, Viprin announced a rework of the awards system, shifting from decoration-based to difficulty-based categories.[1] This change addressed issues like debates over level classifications (e.g., White Space by XG) and limitations on category eligibility (e.g., LIMBO by MindCap). Creator categories were merged into Best Creator, and Best Music Artist was removed.
The nominees premiered on 20 January 2024 (delayed due to the release of Update 2.2) on RobTop's channel, with the results announced on 3 February 2024.
Following Update 2.2, the awards system was reworked again to include platformer mode categories, such as platformer levels, creators, and players. To streamline the event, levels were grouped into difficulty intervals (e.g., Easy and Medium Demons merged into one category). The nominees were revealed on 15 February 2025, with the winners announced on 1 March 2025.
The Geometry Dash Awards 2025 Nominees premiered on 14 February 2026, with the winners announced on 28 February 2026. For the first time in the event's history, the list of categories was entirely identical to that of the previous year. However, a jury of 200 specially selected community members was implemented whose combined votes counted for 50% of the total result.
Note: The vote totals are given in the format they were given in the results videos: total number of votes before 2024, total vote percentage for 2024, and community/jury split vote percentage for 2025.
