Gauntlets, formally titled The Lost Gauntlets, are a feature of Geometry Dash, Geometry Dash Lite, and Geometry Dash World, introduced during Update 2.1 with new gauntlets gradually being added post-release. They are accessed from the creator menu and are split into several pages containing three gauntlets each.
A gauntlet is comprised of a selection of five user levels of similar yet generally increasing difficulty, which are required to be completed in order from beginning to end. To facilitate this, gauntlet levels are duplicates of the original levels, with their progress tracked individually as part of the gauntlet sequences. The level menus feature a monochrome background and cannot be rated or marked as favourites. The gauntlets' levels are also arranged in sequence and cannot be moved. On Geometry Dash Lite and World, players are given the option to watch an advertisement to access a certain gauntlet.
There are a total of 47 gauntlets, two of which are initially locked or hidden. They offer the standard user-level rewards, as well as diamonds for making progress on levels. Completing a gauntlet rewards more diamonds and may further reward mana orbs, shards, icons and other special items.

The format of gauntlets is shared by worlds in Geometry Dash World, having a selection of five levels played in sequence. Gauntlets are also similar to Map Packs in being selections of user levels that offer rewards, although the number of levels, rewards, and order of play differ.
The first six gauntlets are based on the five tier 1 shards: fire, ice, poison, shadow and lava shards, and also bonus unlocks.
Despite the Bonus Gauntlet being a part of the group, completing it does not reward any shards to the player.
Chaos, Demon, Force, and Power are the names of both a Gauntlet and a Map Pack.
Currently, no Gauntlets include any Auto, Easy, Insane Demon, or Extreme Demon levels.
There are four gauntlets in which the first level is not the most-downloaded:
Skyward, initially ordered fifth in the Ice Gauntlet, was shifted to second due to its overestimated difficulty.
Blade, initially ordered fourth in the Chaos Gauntlet, was removed upon request by its creator and replaced with Drippy Dub, which was shifted to the third position. Kappaclysm was then shifted to the fourth position.
Vulgarity, initially ordered third in the Time Gauntlet, was replaced with Timeless due to popular demand.
Dangerous Spikes, initially ordered first in the Spike Gauntlet, was removed due to its underestimated difficulty and replaced with Victim.
Digital Glitch, currently ordered third in the Power Gauntlet, also used to be the second level in the Acid Gauntlet upon release, before being quickly changed to SOREVILLE.
Before being replaced, Digital Glitch was the first, and currently the only level, to have been included in two different Gauntlets.
The following levels were included in gauntlets despite not aligning with the criteria of their respective contest:
Odyssey from the Magic Gauntlet is rated 7 stars, while the criteria for the Unknown Creators mega-collaboration were for the level to be 5 or 6 stars in difficulty.
SLAM from the Monster Gauntlet is rated 7 stars, when the criterion to be eligible was for levels to be rated 8 or 9 stars. The level was added despite this, as it was noted during judging that the creator had originally requested 8 stars.
Nowise and Darkness Keeper from the Doom Gauntlet are each rated Hard Demon, when the criterion to be eligible was for levels to be rated Easy Demon or Medium Demon. The levels' difficulties were changed to Medium Demon, although it was later reverted.
This also makes them the only Hard Demon gauntlet levels so far.
BISMARCK, Lutetia, PABRIK, and Asadal from the Universe Gauntlet are each rated Medium Demon, when the criterion for eligibility was for levels to be rated no harder than Easy Demon. Ruta Del Sol is the only Easy Demon.
Radiant Glen from the Discord Gauntlet originally did not have its alternate path available until nearly 15 seconds into the level, while the criteria to be eligible required the alternate path to be available within the first five seconds. The level was later updated to make the alternate path available much earlier.
Project Novaform from the Chance Gauntlet was originally rated Easy Demon; however, it would quickly be rerated to Insane before its addition.
Fire Aura from the Lava Gauntlet, Scarlet Surge and Kappaclysm from the Chaos Gauntlet, and Death Moon from the Cursed Gauntlet are the only levels which were initially released before Update 2.0 to be included in gauntlets.
Death Moon from the Cursed Gauntlet is also currently the only level released three major updates before the gauntlet it is included in.
Motion from the Force Gauntlet and Mission 01 from the Cyborg Gauntlet are currently the only levels released during Update 2.0 to be included in gauntlets released during Update 2.2.
Kappaclysm from the Chaos Gauntlet is the only level in the game to be included in both a gauntlet and a Map Pack, also being the first level of the Blade Pack.
Inferno from the Inferno Gauntlet is the only instance where a gauntlet level matches the name of the gauntlet it appears in so far.
The music for Crazy Ball from the Bonus Gauntlet is titled 'Partyt Är Igång!'. In-game, it is displayed as 'Partyt r Igng!' because the in-game font does not support accented characters.
Likewise, the music title for Shards of Siberia from the Portal Gauntlet, and Empty Space from the Mystery Gauntlet contain some special characters. In-game, those special characters are replaced with '?' since the game cannot recognise special characters.
Out of Place is the longest of these levels with a length of 3m 46s, also making it the longest gauntlet level.
Timeless from the Time Gauntlet, WhyMeWhyMeWhyMeWhyMe from the Portal Gauntlet, Empty Space from the Mystery Gauntlet and Abducted and Jova from the Space Gauntlet are the only levels to use songs that were not available on Newgrounds or the Music Library.
In Abducted's case, the original Newgrounds song was removed from the site by its creator due to controversy relating to unreasonably poor reception of Abducted winning the Space Gauntlet contest. Its replacement was specifically coded to replace the original song's Newgrounds ID.
Lustre is the first level in a gauntlet in which the level creator also composed the music.
The Diablo from the Haunted Gauntlet and Uprising from the Force Gauntlet are the only levels to be added to a gauntlet after previously placing in the Honorable Mentions of a different gauntlet's Creator Contest; they placed 20th and 12th in the NCS Gauntlet Contest, respectively.
Before Update 2.2, the title of the Spike Gauntlet in-game was miscapitalised as 'spike Gauntlet'.
The Demon Gauntlet is the first gauntlet to have Demon difficulty levels.
The Crystal Gauntlet is the first gauntlet to be part of an official Creator Contest.
The Magic Gauntlet is the first gauntlet where all five levels are the same difficulty (if the Demon sub-difficulties are considered distinct difficulties).
The Castle Gauntlet is the only gauntlet in which all levels possess an XL length.
The Force Gauntlet and the Power Gauntlet are the only gauntlets not to include an Icon Kit item in their reward chests.
The Strange Gauntlet is the first gauntlet to contain a level created during Update 2.2, being The Poolrooms.
The Fantasy Gauntlet is the first gauntlet where all the levels were former Daily Levels at the time the gauntlet was uploaded.
In addition, it is the gauntlet with the lowest number of stars granted, with 20 stars in total. It is closely followed by the Shadow Gauntlet, with 21 stars in total.
The Cursed Gauntlet is the first gauntlet where all the levels were former Weekly Demons at the time the gauntlet was uploaded.
The Halloween Gauntlet is the first gauntlet to contain a level with Medium length, being boo.
The Cyborg Gauntlet is the first gauntlet to contain a Legendary-rated level, being getHappier.
The Forest Gauntlet is the first gauntlet to contain a Mythic-rated level, being Astralith.
The NCS I and NCS II Gauntlets are the first gauntlets to contain levels created during Update 2.2 exclusively.
In addition, they are the first gauntlets not to include any levels rated lower than Legendary.
The NCS II Gauntlet is the first gauntlet not to include any levels with user coins.
It would be followed by the Spooky Gauntlet.
The Space and Cosmos Gauntlets are the first gauntlets to include levels that use non-NCS Music Library songs.
The Space Gauntlet has the largest difficulty progression; the first level is five stars lower than the final level.
The Chance Gauntlet is the first gauntlet to include levels that use 2-player input.
When it first released, the Chance Gauntlet was impossible to complete in Geometry Dash Lite or World, as Project Novaform required the 'Always Limit Controls' setting to be turned on, which only exists in the full version of Geometry Dash. It was quickly fixed through a level update.
The Spider Gauntlet is the first gauntlet to primarily feature levels with only one game-mode (being the spider).
Of the Spider Gauntlet levels, only two feature more than one game-mode—Free the Boys and Outside World—both of which keep the player as a spider visually in the game-modes.
